Facilities and Maintenance

About

The Maintenance, Operations, and Transportation (MOT) Department oversees the facility maintenance, energy efficiency, and environmental safety at Columbia Union School District.  Our staff work to ensure that all facilities and grounds are adequately maintained in order to provide an appropriate and safe physical environment for students to learn and staff to work in.

MOT personnel are essential to the district’s daily operations and long-term vision for Columbia.  They have a number of roles and responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Custodial services that include maintaining cleanliness and sanitation.

  • Performing general maintenance on life safety equipment and most repair work.

  • Upholding a healthy outdoor environment through general grounds keeping and landscaping.

  • Managing an environment of a quality that protects students, staff, and visitors through compliance and any and all applicable environmental and safety rules, regulations, and laws.

  • Working to provide all stakeholders with a well-maintained and functional campus that is conducive to the needs of all of Columbia’s stakeholders in terms of learning, visitation, and use.

Our MOT personnel also serve as our bus drivers and are responsible for the safe and timely transportation of students.  To access bus routes, schedules, and other transportation related items, please click here.
